DOAKTOWN COMPETITIVE LEAGUE House Rules

The League shall follow all the rules of the Canadian Curling Association and the NB Curling Association

LOCAL RULES

- The Skip of each team will be responsible for the registration of team, the recruiting of players and the conduct of fair play.

LEAGUE REGISTRATION

• Each team will have a minimum of four players.
• Skips will declare the members of their team before the commencement of any schedule. If a change must be made to a registered team it must have the consent of at least 75% of the other skips in the league.
• All players will be paid up members of the Doaktown Curling Club. Memberships are due no later than 31 January.
• A team with a member that has failed to pay Membership Dues by 31 January will forfeit all wins to that date.
• Each team will pay a League Registration Fee of $100 to be held by the Club for Prizes. The Registration Fee must be paid no later that 31 January.
• A list of Registered Spares will be maintained and provided to each skip.

LEAGUE PLAY

• All games will be eight ends unless forfeited by the losing skip.
• There will be no ties. Ties should be broken by the playing of an extra end. If both skips are mutually agreeable the tie may be broken by a draw to the button. Skips will determine the member of their team to make the shot.
• League Standings will be determined by Won/Lost records.
• Mates of winning teams are responsible for reporting the results of a game.
• It is the responsibility of the skip to inform the opposing team if their team is unable to play a scheduled game. The Skip that cancelled the game is responsible for the rescheduling of the game. Notification must be given at least three hours in advance of the game.

THE USE OF SPARES

* A team may play a game with three players

• No game shall be played if a team cannot field at least two registered members of the team.
• The skip of a team without sufficient members must contact spares from the Spares List to complete the team for a game. A spare must play Lead.
• If there are no Spares available, a Skip may use a player from another team. If the person, is not on the spare list, they must play at Lead. If two spares are being used they must play Lead and Second.
• If a player that is not a member of the Doaktown Curling Club is being used as a spare, the Skip is responsible to collect $5.00 per game from the player and remit the same to the Club Treasurer. This player must play at the Lead position.

PRIZES

• At completion of League Play any ties in standings shall be broken by a one game play off.
• The Registration Fees collected shall be divided as follows: 1st Place – 50%, 2^nd Place – 30%, and 3^rd Place 20%.
